Introducing The Fisherman: Ensuring Fair Play on Wunderpar
Updated over a week ago

Hello Wunderpar community!

We are thrilled to introduce a new member of our Wunderpar team: The Fisherman. This AI-powered team member aims to keep our golf-to-earn platform fair and enjoyable for everyone. The Fisherman is here to ensure that all users play fair and square, and to flag any suspicious activity that might give players an unfair advantage. Here's how The Fisherman works to maintain the integrity of our platform:

The Fisherman’s Game Plan

The Fisherman operates with a tiered system that evaluates the performance of each player’s rounds. Based on your performance, you will be categorized into one of three statuses: Birdie, Par, or Bogey. Let’s dive into the details of each status and how you can move between them.

Birdie Status

  • Criteria: Consistently good rounds of play.

  • Rewards: You earn all the tokens you deserve!

  • Risk: If you start having more bad rounds than good, your score will keep dropping and the Fisherman will flag your account, and you will move down to Par status.

Being at Birdie status means you're in the top tier of our players. You're playing well and earning tokens at the highest rate. But remember, consistency is key. A few slip-ups can put you at risk.

Par Status

  • Criteria: Your performance has been good, but there have been some inconsistencies.

  • Rewards: You will earn 50% of your tokens.

  • Path to Birdie: Play good rounds consistently again to move back up to Birdie status.

  • Risk: If you keep having more bad rounds, your score will keep dropping and the Fisherman will drop you to Bogey status.

Par status indicates that you’ve had some ups and downs. While you’re still earning tokens, you’re only getting half of what you could. To get back to Birdie, focus on improving your game and maintaining a steady performance.

Bogey Status

  • Criteria: Multiple consecutive bad rounds of play.

  • Rewards: You earn 1% of your total tokens per round.

  • Path to Par: Improve your game and play consistently good rounds to move up to Par status. From there, continue your good performance to achieve Birdie status.

If you find yourself at Bogey status, don’t be disheartened. It’s a chance to hone your skills and prove that you can bounce back. By consistently playing well, you’ll climb back up to Par and eventually Birdie status.

What Constitutes a Good Round?

To ensure your rounds are considered legitimate and to avoid the Fisherman's net, make sure you:

  1. Have Legit Rounds of Golf on a Course: Play on actual golf courses to ensure authenticity.

  2. Have Valid Data Points on Wunderpar: Keep the app running and avoid any interruptions during your rounds.

  3. Start Rounds at Valid Times: Begin your rounds between 5am and 7pm, except in countries that offer night golf.

  3. Check Your Inbox When The Fisherman Flags a Round: If you feel a flag is incorrect, reach out to us. We're still training the system and appreciate your feedback.
